Congratulations to the 2nd class children who made their First Holy Communion on Sunday 22nd of May in Church of the Ascension, Gortanumera. The children worked very hard all year to prepare for this special day and their hard work paid off when they did a fantastic job. We are very proud of you.

This year we had Bart who took us through our paces with golf. We practiced putting and chipping skills at various targets. They had games and mini-competitions over the 5 week period.
March 15th was Proclamation Day. All schools across Ireland raised our National Flag at 12 noon. In Gortanumera, the Junior Room presented the school with their flags. The Senior Room read out the Proclamation of 1916 and Our Proclamation for the Ireland today. Some pupils read “The Wayfarer” by Padraig Pearse which was written by him …
