The Spelling Bee is open in 5th and 6th class. Nathan Canning, Clodagh Hickey and Leanne Hickey competed in the school round. They were seated at the top of the room and were asked questions of various difficulty. The three candidates were excellent and they were asked tricky spellings. Leanne was the winner and went through to the Galway heat in the Galway Bay Hotel on the 26th of April. Leanne did a superb job representing the school and was up against 60 other schools in the county. Each of the students had to sit up on stage and face the Bee Master. When they were asked the spelling they had to stand up and call out their spelling. Leanne got through to the second round. We are all very proud of her achievements.
