We held our Sports Day on the 20th of June. There were many fun novelty races. The children had ice cream to cool them down at lunchtime. They all got a gold medal for their participation. Everyone enjoyed the day.
Bishop John Kirby came to visit the children of 5th and 6th class on the 3rd of May in preparation for their Confirmation which was on the 12th of May. It was a very special day for the children and their families.
The school was invited to Portumna Community School to celebrate the hurling achievements of Joe Canning.
We held our annual Book Fair from March 9th – 16th It was open to parents and the children to browse around or purchase books. It raised €330 worth of books for the school library.

Abbie Cox from 2nd class won an art competition that was run by Green Isle. Her prize was a Hi Vis jacket for each student in the school. Thank you Abbie and congratulations on your wonderful win.
NUIG post grad students visited the school. They visited 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes. They gave us a talk on antibiotics and how we are becoming immune to some. It was hands on and we got to do experiments showing how bacteria can linger even after washing our hands. It was really fun and …
The children brought in Shoe Boxes full of nice gifts for some of the world’s most vulnerable children – many of whom will receive no other gift this Christmas. For some it’s the first gift they’ve ever received.
Anne and Cormac came to give the senior room a talk on how to keep your home safe. It was very informative and we took home some really practical advice to improve safety in the home.
