Contact UsGortanumera National School is a rural, co- educational, Catholic primary school, and is situated in the parish of Portumna, Co. Galway. Our school is a happy, safe place where every child matters.
Gortanumera NS has a very dedicated and committed staff who work together to ensure every child in our care reaches their full potential. We are committed to the academic, creative, emotional, and physical development of each student in our caring environment.
Gortanumera NS is a four- teacher school. Our staff includes three- class teachers, one full time Special Education Teacher, one full time SNA, and our school secretary. Our low pupil-teacher ratio enables greater attention and support. We are extremely proud of the children in our school and the manner in which they conduct themselves; the kind word, the friendliness, the ability to always see the positive side and the respect they have for others. All these attributes make our school a special and unique place to be each day.
